De cara al cielo como una lagartija,
te acomodo dentro del baúl con olor a ocote
mi piel revienta las flores que dibujaron sobre mi vestido
pueden venir esta noche a pellizcarme hombres y colibríes
mi alegría es néctar que emana.
A bailar voy a las fiestas y si llueve
el corazón del día arroja un arcoiris
sobre mis ojos y mi huipil.
Cuando un rayo cae, quema el cielo,
entonces abro mi boca de lagartija para beber su fuego.

Si yo pudiera ir al mercado
con la niña de los ojos pálidos,
le compraría: un juego de lotería,
una pluma del color del jicaco oscuro,
unas sandalias con hebillas doradas
y para que su nahual comiera bajo una ceiba,
la espesura ácida de las ciruelas.
Tapizaría su casa con manojos de albahaca y cordoncillo,
ese sería su huipil
y todo aquel que la mirara
la quisiera por el rocío permanente de su cuerpo.

Una libertad que retoza y no se ha hecho fea.
La sensibilidad de un loro que habla,
soy la niña que se le caen las cocadas y no las levanta,
un huevo de gallina negra me recorre y despierta.
Soy una nariz que huele el adobe de la casa de enfrente
un patio y todas sus casas.
Una fotografía regañada,
un trazo delgado en medio de la selva.
Una flor para el agua, para otras flores y no de las personas.
Soy una resina que lloró San Vicente.
Soy un alcaraván que ahogó su canto en otro idioma.

Una anciana me dijo una vez que somos árboles que caminan,
llevamos ramitas, raíces
y todos los que vinieron antes de nosotros son estrellas en nuestro cielo.
En dirección al sol nuestro caminar descalzos es para sentir la tierra,
el calor, el agua y cada respiración.
Somos naturaleza.
Los ancianos conocen los ciclos de la tierra y el cielo,
la música oculta que se manifiesta en todas las cosas
y despiertan lo que está dormido,
las palabras buenas, el maraka’yba.
