El tzute es un pañuelo, paño o mantilla, elaborado generalmente en telar de cintura.
Se utiliza amarrado en la cabeza, bajo el sombrero en las festividades religiosas o civiles, especialmente por los miembros de las cofradìas de las diferentes comunidades.
Las mujeres cofrades lo llevan doblado en el hombro encima del velo tocado.
Tambièn tiene otras utilidades dentro de las ceremonias:
Se utilizan sobre los muebles y estan bordados en ambos lados; como paños de ofrenda, de hombros y andas durante las procesiones.
El tzute tambien es utilizado como servilleta de cofradìa; como ofrenda o para cubrir ofrendas y generalmente es donada por la alcaldesa o por el cofrade. Otros usos son para hacer un anudado que recibe el nombre de tanate o bulto el cual tiene como finalidad envolver compras e incluso llevar cargado a un niño.
